Sean Olsen has become the new WKBF Australian Middleweight title holder after defeating Jye Simpson at Rumble at the Ridge
Training out of Black Dragon Kai, Sean had a tremendous lead up to the fight.
“I was feeling good training and I felt my strength and conditioning was perfect”, he said.
“The weight cut, which is the hardest part, was perfect. So, no issues there”.
Sean believes he wouldn’t have had the fight he had without his coach and team’s support.
“Geordie Lavers-McBain, Peter Blackburn, Dave Bestmann and Daniel White did so much for me leading up to the fight and I just want to thank them for everything they do and all the effort they put in”, he said.
Winning the WKBF Australian title is no mean feat, and Sean joins a host of other well-known fighters, such as John Wayne Parr, to hold a WKBF title.
“It feels unreal. It was kind of a surreal feeling and as the week has gone on it’s started to sink in. I genuinely haven’t stopped smiling”, he said.
Sean is looking to compete more in 2022 and defend his WKBF middleweight title.
“I am looking to be more active in 2022. Due to lockdowns from COVID this year a lot of the events and shows were cancelled which was sad, but hopefully next year can be more promising”, he said.
“I have an MMA title fight lined up in March, so we are starting the year off with a bang!”
