Here is a moment from out on the road, getting stories for the newspaper recently.
That afternoon, I drove to the Lost World via Christmas Creek, back across Darlington Connection Road to Hillview then across Rudd Lane to Palen Creek for a cuppa (and, of course an interview and photo), with Gary Moloney.
In case you don’t recognise this scene, it’s the Lost World, half an hour or so south of Beaudesert.
There was something striking about the frostbitten grass and dusty old road against the lush greens of Lamington National Park and a sky heavy with afternoon drizzle.
I couldn’t help but pull over and take a photo of this vast beauty, so close to our township, and pinch myself that I was actually out here for work.
