Beaudesert’s Makers’ Market is back, with unique locally made gifts by artisans from around the Scenic Rim.

The market is open from 10am to 3pm daily from 2 to 22 December for a range of gifts from earrings through to homewares made by local potters, wood turners and blacksmiths.

In the lead up to Christmas there are also three very special workshops being conducted by BADCAP members.

Cindy Wood is facilitating the very popular Christmas Wreath Workshop on Sunday 3 December.

With loads of fresh and dried foliage supplied as well as tools and tuition, you will be inspired to create a stunning Festive/Christmas Wreath.

Bookings can be made with Christine Grimmett by phoning 0421 006 220.

Also on 3 December is Susanne Schroeder’s Upcycled Plastic Flowers Workshop.

In this workshop you will develop and design your own unique flower brooch limited only by your imagination.

Single use plastic bags will be fused together in layers with an iron. The patterned ‘fabric’ will then be fashioned into multiple petal shapes and embellished with found and recycled objects.

Erica Bates presents Upcycled Flowers and Flying Things Workshop on 9 December.

Participants will cut and create their choice of flowers, leaves and fluttering creatures using templates and free form cutting techniques.

Materials used will include floristry supplies and upcycled kitchen plastics such as milk bottles and bread bags, as well as recycled textiles, yarns and thread.

Creations from the Upcycled workshops will be part of the A Garden of Possibility – Reimagine It! exhibition at The Centre, Beaudesert, Scenic Rim on 10 February 2024.

For more information and bookings for workshops, follow the BADCAP – Scenic Rim Public Arts Facebook page.
