St Mary’s recently celebrated Under 8s Day with a morning of activities centred around this year’s theme, Celebrating 70 Years.

Held on May 22, the event welcomed around 250 students, along with families, younger siblings and children from local kindergartens.

The school grounds were transformed into a hub of hands-on learning, with activities including playdough creations, marble painting, biscuit decorating, potion making, dress-ups and a palaeontology dig in the sandpit.

A popular passport system encouraged children to explore each activity, while Year 6 students assisted teachers and younger peers across the various stalls.

The morning also highlighted community connections, with visits from local emergency services helping to engage and inspire students.

With a focus on play-based learning, connection and celebration, Under 8s Day provided an opportunity for St Mary’s to recognise its youngest learners while marking the school’s proud 70-year history.
