Volleyball players serve up Queensland Schools Cup

Beaudesert State High School took three volleyball teams to this year’s Queensland  Schools Cup, with all teams finishing in the top five in their divisions.

Over 300 schools took part in the competition, with BSHS’s Senior Boys team finishing in third place; the Year 12 girls team finishing in fifth place and the Year 11/12 team finishing in second place.

Zach Glover and Tylah Briant coached all three teams and Tylah said she was delighted with the performance of all teams.

“This is the first time we have placed in Queensland with two teams,” she said.

“They are all super dedicated in training – leading up to the competition they were training a minimum of four times a week, early mornings and during school as well.”

“During the competition they are massive hours, including ten hour days.”

The students will have two weeks off training to concentrate on assessment and will aim for the Australian Schools Cup Volleyball competition in December.
