Price to play one show only

Beaudesert born singer-songwriter Rick Price is headed home for one show only as part of his ‘Soulville’ Tour.

Price will play an intimate show at GTM Music Studios in the heart of Beaudesert, where local singer-songwriter Kylie Moss and Tony Griffiths run music lessons and events.

Kylie said the concert came about through one of their guitar students who is a friend of Price’s.

“Rick was really interested in the studio and we asked if he would do a show and he was happy to do that,” said Kylie.

“Then we asked if he would to a masterclass as well for the kids – and adults – and he just said, “Sure, no worries”.”

“He’s been great.”

Kylie said Price’s concert will be a solo concert playing songs from his new Soulville album as well as the songs he has written about Beaudesert and the township.

“I said to Tony, who would have thought two years ago that we would have a studio that Rick Price would be coming to play in?  It’s crazy!”

Rick Price has had a successful career in Australia and overseas as a country music artist.

He is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer.

His debut album, Heaven Knows, was released in July 1992, and peaked at number three on the ARIA Albums Chart.

At the APRA Music Awards in 1992 “Heaven Knows” won Song of the Year for Price and his co-writer, Heather Field.

Since 2009 he has lived in Nashville, Tennessee.
