Four Seasons at Old Laravale School

Angel Strings

Wendy Lohmann has always loved Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and has had a dream of a string quartet playing for her.

With her B&B and retreat, the Old Laravale School, offering the perfect setting for just such an event, she has organised her dream concert and invites everyone for an afternoon of jazz and classical music – Four Seasons in an Afternoon.

Music will be provided by Brisbane based string quartet Angel Strings.

Angel Strings was born in 2004 of a passion for bringing beautiful music to as many contexts as possible.

Regular performers of a broad classical repertoire, Angel Strings have also developed a reputation for their edgy renditions of modern works and pop/rock arrangements.

They have a unique ability to connect with a wide audience, having played on the Brisbane City Hall main stage, for Musica Viva CountryWide, at the Spark Bar of the Brisbane Powerhouse and at the Melbourne Crown Casino.

Professionally trained musicians with national and international experience, individual ‘Angels’ have performed with the Queensland Symphony and Pops Orchestras, Queensland Theatre and Opera Queensland.

They have shared the stage with Nigel Kennedy, Andrea Bocelli, Kanye West, Eminem, Il Divo, Archie Roach and William Barton.

Tickets to the event include a picnic box provided by That Platter Company.

Wines from Bunjurgen Estate Winery can be purchased on the day and Wendy advises guests to bring warm layers, especially if they want to stay on for a telescope viewing of the night sky with members of the Scenic Rim Astronomy Association.

“Even if they are not staying into the evening, the afternoons can cool down very quickly,” said Wendy.

Tickets are $87.50 which includes fees and a picnic box per person.

Ticket sales will close on Wednesday 22 June at midnight.
