Urban Utilities is offering 30 customers the chance to win $100 off their water and sewerage bill by making the switch to ebilling.

Every year, the utility mails out more than 1.3 million bills which creates a lot of paper waste.

Urban Utilities spokesperson Michelle Cull said ebilling is better for the environment and is convenient and mobile as receiving emails or SMS is more accessible than paper copies.

“Switching to ebilling means you can view and pay bills from your phone if you are on the go,” Ms Cull said.

“It also helps cut down on household clutter and allows you to keep all your bills electronically, in one place.”

Roughly 300,000 Urban Utilities customers have already gone paperless and Ms Cull is hoping many more will follow in their footsteps.

“Switching to ebilling is a simple and secure process,” she said.

“If you sign up before June 30, 2024, you will go into the draw to win one of the thirty $100 credits off your next Urban Utilities bill.”

The winners will be drawn on Monday, July 8, and will be notified by email or SMS about their winnings.

Customers who make the switch will still be able to decide how they want to pay their bills and can be paid by internet banking (Bpay), direct debit, cheque, via phone using a credit card, or in person at Australia Post.
