Beaudesert Rotary President Mark McCabe recently presented a cheque to local Foodbank, Tracey’s Pantry.

Mark said the donation was from money raised at Beaudesert Rotary’s recent Single Malt Whiskey tasting.

Tracey’s Pantry coordinator, Judy Day said the donation will go towards providing more food parcels for the people who utilise the service.

“We received a grant last year which I thought I would stretch through until the end of this year,” said Judy.

“This will top up our money.  We’ve got to spend more locally now because we’re not able to access as much from FoodBank at the moment.”

Tracey’s Pantry provides between 20 to 25 food parcels to anyone who wants to access the service.

Judy said the demand for the service is growing.

Tracey’s Pantry is located at the Scenic Rim Uniting Church Hall, corner of William and Duckett Streets, Beaudesert.

Judy takes donations every Thursday between 5pm and 5.30pm and food parcels are able to be picked up on Fridays between 1pm and 3pm.
