The world as Danny Bradley’s canvas

Danny Bradley describes his life as one built around art – a lifelong passion that has taken him from the United Kingdom to Australia, where he eventually settled in Beaudesert.

His curiosity, love of nature and willingness to explore new techniques has seen his work exhibited in galleries, featured on buildings, reproduced on book covers and turned into greeting cards and calendars.

Always striving to see the world through a different lens, Danny combines his instinctive creativity with a commitment to continually expanding his skills and knowledge.

Growing up

Born in Essex, United Kingdom, Danny is the eldest of five brothers.

His introduction to art came early thanks to his uncle Charles McCarron – a professional artist who first taught him to paint at the age of five.

By 16, Danny had formed a close friendship with his neighbour Joel Kirk who shared his passion for art and nature.

The pair often visited galleries together, studying works and attempting to replicate them.

Although Joel has since passed away, Danny continues to admire his work and the artistic legacy he left behind.

Alongside his interest in art, Danny was heavily involved in sport throughout his school years, eventually pursuing a career as a professional soccer player.

A leg injury at the age of 20 brought that path to an end.

He later took up amateur golf, which he retired from three years ago.

Taking to canvas

In 1965, at the age of 17, Danny immigrated to Australia with his family, initially settling in Sydney and moving to Brisbane four weeks later.

Three years later, he further developed his artistic skills in Brisbane by studying ticket writing for a year.

He went on to take commissions and painted professionally for many years.

In 1984, Danny enrolled at the Queensland College of Art, where he studied fine arts, illustration and design. He moved to the Gold Coast in 1989.

In 1996, he studied at Queensland Business College, focussing on graphic art and business administration.

With a deep fascination for nature and wildlife, much of his work features animals encountered during his travels.

Throughout his career, Danny has worked across a wide range of mediums, including glass staining, screen printing, graphic design and traditional painting.

He established his own screen printing and graphic design business in 2000 and continues to undertake freelance work today.

After more than six years on Tamborine Mountain, he moved to Beaudesert in 2025.

He now enjoys a quieter life with his wife Allanach and hopes to continue finding ways to share his artistic practice with the local community.
