The Beaudesert Sesquicentennial Committee is preparing for Beaudesert’s biggest birthday – the grand celebration of the town’s 150th anniversary, which will take place in 2024.

The committee, comprising of Tim Andrews,  Sue Weymouth, Mark Plunkett and Lani Deeran, has already started working to organise signature events that will commemorate this historic milestone.

There will be a spectacular Family Fun Day on Saturday 20 July, aimed at bringing together the entire Beaudesert community for a day filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories.

Families can look forward to a range of activities and attractions that will cater to all ages, ensuring a fun-filled day for everyone in attendance.

The second event planned is a prestigious Gala Soiree to be held on Saturday 3 August. This elegant affair will provide an opportunity for the community to come together in a formal setting and celebrate Beaudesert’s rich history and achievements over the past 150 years. The evening promises to be an unforgettable experience, delectable food, live entertainment, and heartwarming speeches paying homage to the town’s remarkable journey.

Tamrookum Hall will host a Dancing through the Ages night on 6 April which will celebrate the history of the region and the Miss and Mrs Beaudesert Shire and District title holders.

“We urge all residents and visitors of Beaudesert to keep an eye out for these announcements, as these events are not to be missed,” said Tim.

“Together, we can contribute towards making Beaudesert’s 150th anniversary a year-long celebration filled with vibrant and diverse events that showcase our community’s spirit and unity.”

The committee will release more detailed information regarding the events, including venues and ticketing information over the coming months, but they are encouraging more people to get involved.

The committee would like to hear from community organisations or groups who wish to host events throughout the 2024 calendar year, under the official B150 logo.
