Jodie Marshall describes six year old Maine Coon, Lord Nickovitch or Nickovf for short, as a ‘furry toddler’.
“They’re the coolest breed of cats,” she said, “They are the largest domestic cat in the world. They like water – they swim, they sit, they stay, they fetch … it’s a cat-dog.”
Maine Coons bond with one person in a manner that is almost obsessive. Nickovf has bonded strongly with Jodie.
“When we sleep at night he has to lie longways next to me; I have to pat his belly and he has to be touching me at all times.”
“I thought it was just a Nickovf thing but apparently it’s the breed.”
