Beaudesert Baptist Church is holding their annual holiday kids’ club running from June 24 to 28 for prep to year six kids looking to stay preoccupied for the first week of school holidays.
Each day will be filled with activity rotations that will include morning tea, board games, singing, crafts, bible stories and more from 9am to 12pm, free of charge.
Organiser Jade Cocks is excited to bring back the annual holiday kids club that has been running for over 10 years.
“It’s just our way as a church to be able to reach out to the community and provide a program for children in school holidays,” Jade said.
“The kids will often ask if they can do it again the follow week – they really do enjoy it, which is lovely, and we really enjoy being able to do something for our community.”
Each holiday kids club has a theme, with this year’s being an underwater scuba theme.
“We’ve got an amazing team of volunteers who completely transform the church into whatever the theme is,” Jade said.
“We’re diving deep into the water, so the church will be transformed into an underwater theme.”
Jade appreciates the impact the kids club has on the community and hopes it gives kids an unforgettable experience.
“I think I had seen the impact it had made in my own life as I was growing up,” she said.
“I just knew it was one of those peak experiences for kids that they would really enjoy – coming along with their friends in that holiday week and getting to hang out and do some pretty cool things.”
Jade loves being able to run the kids club through the church as it gives members the opportunity to get involved with the community.
“What I do love about bringing it all together, is the fact that it involves our church family,” she said.
“I love seeing everyone working together to reach out to our community, but it is a real joy to see all the kids come along – it’s a very busy week, but it’s worthwhile.”
