To Harry Tommerup, Freda the jersey calf behaves a bit like a dog.
It makes sense because Freda, who was born prematurely on 24 January, shares the house yard with the family’s pack of energetic Jack Russells.
Little Freda gets three bottles a day, mostly fed to her by Harry.
To help strengthen her underdeveloped lungs, she regularly goes for a frolic around the yard with the dogs after her bottle.
Here’s what Harry has to say about Freda.
“She’s a bit like a dog, but she’s a calf. She’s kind of needy and she can climb the stairs” he said.
“We haven’t really bottle fed any calves quite like this, for quite as long. We’ve bottle fed lambs, but they haven’t needed to stay as long as she has.”
