ON Thursday February 15, the Queensland Firebirds’ Suncorp Regional Tour made its way to the Beaudesert and District Netball Association grounds.
The clinic focused on netball skill development, match play, and team building activities. All attendees walked away with a Firebird netball and bookmark, signed on the day by Firebirds.
Firebird players Donnell Wallam and Remi Kamo helped run the clinic, as well as other coaches.
Clinic attendees, Mae Pleasants and Kaylee Stewart, both agree that being coached by the Firebirds was beneficial for their netball skill development.
“We learnt lots of stuff,” says Mae.
“They play for Australia, and they win; it’s really cool,” says Kaylee.
Both girls were inspired by Wallam and Kamo.
At just 12 years old, Mae has been playing netball for 3 years, and Kaylee for 6.
The clinic truly was an incredible opportunity for the netballers of the future.
