LOCAL shooter Dan Davis excelled at the Beaudesert Sporting Clays’ annual two-day shoot held earlier this month winning the AA title.
The annual event involves two separate competitions with the first day a club shoot and second a State qualifier competition for the Queensland team.
Davis competed against a strong field of more than 100 shooters who had travelled from as far afield as Coffs Harbour and Childers.
His strong performance with a score of 70/75 took him to a shoot-off with Brisbane Shooter Peter Tobin for the ‘High Gun’ title on day two.
Unfortunately for Davis, the Brisbane shooter proved too good in the pressure finale.
Beaudesert junior club members also shined over the weekend with Luca Goodchild and Jack Davis taking the top two places.
The club’s loyal sponsor FSB Ammunitions paid for the nominations of the nine junior shooters for the two-day shoot.
Club member Charles Rogers said this year’s two-day shoot welcomed a host of newcomers to Beaudesert.
The overall High Gun winner was Damien Birgan from Brisbane.
