After a well-deserved makeover, the CWA Hall, now located on Selwyn Street, has reopened.

With a fresh paint job alongside new kitchen and toilet facilities, the hall is looking better than ever, and Beaudesert CWA couldn’t be more excited to have their space back.

Beaudesert CWA President Linda Lynch is ecstatic about moving back into the hall after construction commenced in early February.

“I hadn’t been able to sleep for days because my brain is thinking of what I got to do for packing up,” she said.

“We were given three dates, but they kept getting pushed forward – so, it’s finally happened.”

Linda and the other CWA members were temporarily relocated during the construction process and appreciated the help they received from the Scenic Rim Regional Council.

Now that the process is finally complete, the CWA ladies are moving back into their beloved hall.

“I had to talk to my brain and say ‘No, let the girls help,’ and that’s what we did,” Linda said.

During construction they used other buildings to run their meetings and hold events, however they lost all income from hall bookings.

The refurbished hall is now available for bookings for events and activities and Linda hopes new bookings will raise money to help them support the community.

Planning has commenced for the official opening to be held in February 2025.

“People have been bringing in old recipes and books from back in the day,” she said.

“We’ve got one lady who’s been with us for 80 years. She was only a young-un when she joined with her mother, so, she’s got heaps of information.”

Even though the grand opening isn’t until next year, the hall doors are open and waiting for the community.

“Don’t hesitate to make a booking to come and see the facilities,” Linda said.

To kick off the festive season, CWA Beaudesert is holding Christmas markets on December 7 in their new hall.

From 8am until 12pm, the ladies have organised to offer the community potential gift ideas through various stalls, including cakes, crafts and plants.

Be sure to check out the new hall and possibly buy some cakes while you’re at it.
