Christmas will be a little brighter for dozens of locals thanks to a generous local partnership.

Beaudesert Auto Group, which is part of Westpoint Autos, recently donated 46 Christmas gifts to the Beaucare Annual Christmas Appeal for young people of all ages.

Beaudesert Auto Group Dealer Principal Simon Childs said the Christmas gift handover was part of Westpoint Autos Group’s ongoing effort to positively impact the local community, particularly during the festive season.

“We’re always trying to do what we can to support the local community, not for profit organisations,” Mr Childs said.

“We’ve been in the community a long time and we just want to continue to show our support.”

In a statement to the Bulletin, Westpoint Autos said it was an exciting partnership.

“Christmas is a time for giving, and as a community-focused company, we’re proud to support Beaucare and help spread some holiday cheer to those who need it most,” they wrote.

“We are excited to kick off this year’s charity efforts with this gift handover and look forward to many more initiatives to come.”

Beaucare General Manager Louise Dwyer said the organisation’s appeal, which has been going for at least a decade, is about empowering local families.

“It’s a little bit different in that we work with people who are in need throughout the year – we get 110 to 130 people a month that come through the door who are new to Beaucare, often new to the area, and sometimes they have quite significant needs,” she said.

“Our Christmas appeal focuses on families we know are going to have a really tough Christmas, and we don’t want to give the gift from Beaucare, the gifts are given to the parents to give to the children to ease the financial stress on the parents and to give the family a better Christmas.”

She said Beaucare’s appeal is one of many in Beaudesert and paid tribute to other groups also working to support the community at Christmas time.
