Greater business involvement, more social meetings and equipping Beaudesert for growth is the focus for new Beaudesert Chamber of Commerce President John Powell.

Mr Powell took the reins from outgoing President David Kassulke at the chamber’s AGM at The Club, Beaudesert on 15 February.

He welcomed newly appointed Vice President Vanessa Skinner, Secretary Bel Brown and Treasurer Tom Plunkett and thanked Mr Kassulke and outgoing Vice President Stephen Craven, Secretary Hannah Larsen and Treasurer Samantha Newsham.

“I am very pleased with the team that has been elected. A great mix of past experience and new enthusiasm,” he said.

“I am looking forward to helping the chamber grow. There are a huge number of businesses in our region who are not members of the chamber, and we need this to change. But for this to happen, we need members to want to come to our meetings.

“Personally, I would like to see the chamber more involved with the social activities where members can interact and network. And we need to be having speakers who are relevant and helpful, supplying information to assist our members to grow and meet the challenges we face every day in our businesses.”

The chamber meets on the third Wednesday of each month. For more information visit https://www.facebook.com/beaudesertchamber
