Beaudesert Slashing owner Ray Edwards has been operating in Beaudesert for 20 odd years.
“It started off with me and this little tractor,” Ray said.
He is passionate about keeping regional heritage alive and lives life through his father who passed away when Ray was just 14 years old.
“He was like a leader of the community – family came first,” Ray said.
“I’m a great believer in preserving regional heritage.”
Ray is very involved with community endeavours including advocating for the Pig and Calf campaign.
He hopes to help the community grow together and to remember what our roots are.
“My father used to always say ‘carry on as if I was here’ and I never forgot it. So, I carried on the way he’d want things done – probably that’s why I am like I am.”
