Beaudesert athletes shone at the 2023 McDonald’s State Relay Championships held on 2 December at the State Athletics Facility.

A small contingent of athletes from the Beaudesert and Districts Little Athletics club travelled to Brisbane to compete, taking home several medals.

Tyler Dimmick and Charlotte Webb both won gold medals in the Mixed Under 17 Long Jump Relay.

Tyler’s long jump was an impressive 5.45 metres and Charlotte’s jump 4.32 metres

Tyler was also selected for the South Coast regional team who won bronze in the 1000 Swedish and gold in the 4 x 100 relay.

Will Robinson and AJ Platell won gold in the Mixed Under 15 Long Jump Relay and silver in the Mixed Under 15 High Jump Relay.

Will achieved a final long jump of 4.95 metres and high jump of 1.66 metres.

AJ Platell’s long jump was 4.57 metres and her high jump was 1.51 metres.

Beaudesert and Districts Little Athletics Secretary, Amanda O’Shannessy, said it was a great result from such a small club with a small team of athletes.

“Next season I encourage as many athletes as possible to participate in regional relays,” she said.

“Despite being a smaller club, we have amazing talent which would well and truly rival other clubs!”

“Bring on regional championships in February 2024 where we once again get to showcase our incredible athletes!”
