AN award that recognises the best young business and community leaders in Queensland saw Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages co-owner, Aspen Forgan, named as one of its finalists.
Aspen was selected alongside an elite group of entrepreneurs in the Queensland 40 under 40 program.
The prestigious award celebrates the impact of the state’s finest young leaders with Aspen recognised for her outstanding contributions to local tourism, her support to other local businesses, and her commitment to promoting the Scenic Rim as a premier tourist destination.
The Queensland 40 Under 40 program is a globally recognised initiative that honors the movers and shakers of the young business world.
It highlights ground-breakers, visionaries, and inspiring young leaders who are shaping the future of Queensland.
The program not only celebrates personal determination and commercial drive but also acknowledges the philanthropic pursuits that balance these young leaders’ professional achievements.
Aspen was chosen in part because of her exceptional dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive community.
As the mother of two neurodiverse children she is particularly passionate about fostering a welcoming environment for all individuals, especially those with unique needs.
Her commitment to inclusivity is evident in her work at Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages, where she is pioneering a carer’s respite retreat tailored to meet the diverse needs of families seeking solace and support.
“Being recognised as a Queensland 40 Under 40 finalist is a profound honor,” she said.
“It underscores our commitment at Barney Creek to not only drive local tourism but also to create a community where everyone feels valued and supported.
“Our vision goes beyond business success; it encompasses a holistic approach to community involvement and social responsibility.
“We believe in leading by example, demonstrating that responsible business practices can enrich lives and strengthen communities, paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future,” Aspen added.
