Alice Love celebrated her 103rd birthday on April 29 at Whiddon Beaudesert Star surrounded by family and friends who love her to bits.

Alice was born in Mount Morgan on April 28, 1921, and has lived in Beaudesert since 1941 after her marriage to William Love.

Her granddaughter and grandson in law Vicky and Grey Westcott, grandson Mark Hartland, great grandson Jake Hartland, nieces Beatrice Flesser, Janice Heit, and Joanne Heit, nephew Robert Love, neighbour of 43 years Heather Barnes, and friend Hazel Parks joined Alice in celebrating her special day.

Staff at Whiddon, where Alice is the oldest resident, joined in on the birthday festivities of sharing morning tea, singing happy birthday, sharing a slice of birthday cake, and exchanging gifts where Alice has a new pink fluffy blanket that she found to be very soft.

Alice’s secret to a long life according to her family is “good food, no alcohol” and “clean living” which helped strengthen her longevity.

She enjoys getting out and interacting with others and believes her time at home helped her live a long life.

She is also extremely fond of mangoes and enjoys a treat to satisfy her sweet tooth.

“We wish you a very special 103rd birthday to our much-loved nana,” Alice’s family said.
