Eleven year old tennis player, Hayden Griffin, is number two in his age group in South East Queensland after finishing as runner up in the SE QLD Challenge in 2021.

The SE QLD Challenge is both a team and individual event. The top 16 Boys and Girls for both Green Ball and Orange Ball from the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast regions competed in a full day tournament.

Playing for the Gold Coast team, Hayden made it to the individual final of the Boys Green Ball Tournament but lost in a very close match.

The Gold Coast team won the overall shield.

Hayden began playing tennis with Beaudesert Tennis Club at the age of five and started playing adult fixtures when he was 10 years old.

This year he also received the Kent Taylor Memorial Trophy for 2021 Junior Player of the Year from Beaudesert Tennis Club.
