The Tradie Toolbox is visiting Beaudesert on May 14 at The Centre Beaudesert to provide a free information session for builders and tradespeople in the local area from 4.30pm to 6pm.

This session is one in a series that is being rolled out across 14 regions in Queensland by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) during April and May.

Considering the tough times the industry is currently facing, The Tradie Toolbox, formerly known as Tradie Tours, hopes to help local building and construction industry members with financial management tools for running their businesses.

The key topics discussed will include:

  • Key contributors to financial success
  • How to be financially fit
  • Financial pathways to success
  • Assessing financial strength and risk levels
  • Identifying potential risks in the industry
  • Guidance on financial strategies, including organisations that can counsel and support
  • The QBCC’s financial requirements.

QBCC Commissioner Anissa Levy says this year’s theme being timely, is a way to acknowledge the financial struggles being experienced by many in the construction industry over the past few years.

“The industry has faced some tough times as a result of the COVID pandemic, economic pressures, natural disasters and a shortage of building materials and labour,’’ Commissioner Levy says.

“These information sessions will provide valuable advice and information to licensees about building financial success in business to help protect them from financial harm.”

Participants will also be able to chat with QBCC experts and a representative from the Mentoring for Growth (M4G) program, which provides access to a network of volunteer business mentors to provide guidance on financial strategies.

Bookings are essential and can be made via the QBCC website.
