No, trust His plans!

What causes a lot of frustration for us is when our plans don’t eventuate.

We thought by this time we’d be further in our career; have met someone, wouldn’t still be dealing with trouble at work, with illness, relationships etc.

When I finished university back home, I prayed and believed that I was going to the United States and paid for the flight with my savings, only to miss the flight for personal reasons, without a refund.

It hadn’t worked out the way I wanted, to my time, and I felt let down. The next day my family received an email that my missed flight had crashed.

If you’re only going to be happy if God does what you want, then you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

It’s not our limited plan that knows true peace; it’s God’s plan. It’s not what we think we want, but what He wants.

The scripture, Isaiah 55:8-9 says, ‘God’s thoughts and ways, are not our thoughts and ways – they are higher than ours. If you’re going to stay in peace you have to let go. One of the hardest things to surrender is how we think it should be. Surrender all your worries to him, because he cares for you’ (1 Peter 5:7).

If we don’t understand this, we get upset, “God where are you? I thought we’d have a baby by now, I thought I’d have my degree, I thought I’d be over this illness”.

Put your plans on the altar of God, in prayer, and be released from anxiety and trying to do it yourself. There’s freedom when you realise God is ordering your steps.

He said His plans for you are for good (Jeremiah 29:11).

You don’t have to figure everything out yourself. No, trust His good plan.

God is good, all the time!
