One hundred and twenty-eight players in 28 teams from 16 different clubs in South East Queensland took part in the ever-popular ladies’ fours event.
On a day featuring tight competition, the composite team of Loreen Jackson, Sue Melville, Barbara Williams and Sandra Taylor were the overall winners, with a score of three wins + 40.
Runners-up were Faye Hines, Salma Clancy, Luchica Muggeridge and Carmen French, also members of a composite team (three wins +23).
Third place went to Val McCallam, Karen Neill, Veronica Melville and Robyn Fullwood of McKenzie Park (three wins + 20).
Round One went to Frances Craig, Lesley Burgess, Angela Carlish and Christine Pitt (Algester); Round Two winners were Reney Mundie, Judith Mullane, Bernadette Frith and Eileen Gough (Beenleigh Muddies); and Round Three was won by Heather Bailey, Vicki Froster, Debbie Logan and Tracy Foster (Algester/Drayton).
As usual at the Plum Pudding Fiesta, the day’s competition was interspersed with a morning tea and lunch that added a much-appreciated social component to the competition.
