Young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women at Beaudesert High are being inspired for the future through a careers and mentoring program with the Brisbane Broncos.

At time of print, at least 30 students were participating in the Beyond the Broncos program, recently launched by ambassadors Scott Prince, Ali Brigginshaw and Beryl Friday with local Mununjali elders and community.

Year 12 student Annastacia Lanigan said she was excited about participating in the program, which will be delivered by the school’s new Student Support Officer, Celeste Blanco with Community Education Counsellor Aunty Rita Moore.

“I can’t wait to learn more about culture. I’m fascinated, because when I was younger it was very closed in and now it’s more appreciated and open. And I can’t wait to meet all the people involved with the program,” she said.
