Beaudesert Kingfisher Senior Women’s team gave everything they had against Logan Brothers in their second game of the season on Saturday 11 June.

In their first game of the season they were beaten by Brothers St Brendans 28 – 4 on 30 April.

Some hard training over the past two months with coaches Rob Brown and Keith Gee saw the women lift their game considerably.

At half time the Kingfishers were behind with the score at 10 – 4 to Logan Brothers.

However Coach Keith Gee was confident that the players would regroup and come back strongly in the second half and they proved him right.

They came back strongly, in front of a vocal and supportive home ground crowd, finishing with a 26 – 16 win at full time.

The Kingfisher’s offense proved too fast for Logan Brothers with the women racing through the defence on several occasions to score.

Wet weather has wreaked havoc with the games with the fields unusable for most of the season.

The Kingfisher Senior Women play at Willis Park, Beaudesert on Saturday 18 June at 3.30pm against Ipswich Swifts and on Saturday 25 June at 2.30pm against Brothers St Brendans.
