Beaudesert Lions Club hosted its 47th charity golf day at Beaudesert Golf Club to raise funds for sun safe shirts for primary school children.

A field of 121 competitors played their way through a four ball Ambrose.

In spite of the heat everyone was still smiling at the Clubhouse at the end of the day, knowing they raised money for a great local cause.

This is the 17th year the Lions Club of Beaudesert has provided sun safe swim shirts for Grade 1 and Prep students in the Beaudesert area.

Lions Club President, Janice Pellinkhof said over 250 swim shirts have been distributed to Beaudesert, Darlington, Gleneagle, Hillview, Rathdowney, Tamrookum, St Mary’s, Veresdale Scrub and Woodhill primary schools thanks to the generosity of their sponsors.

“A huge thanks to all the participants, Beaudesert Golf Club and their friendly staff, our suppliers, sponsors and club members for their ongoing support and for making this year one of our biggest.”

The winners on the day were Rhys Brown, Riley Franklin, Leigh Stokes and Andrew Thomson.
