A passion for community service is the driving force behind an influx of new volunteers at the Rotary Club of Beaudesert.

The local Rotary recently welcomed Aileen Gutierrez, Sheryl Macalintal, Rosefel Peel, Fritzie Perocho, Jackie Atkinson and Aileen Heard.

The club, which was established in 1957 with a commitment to fostering positive change, now has 28 members and four honorary members.

Beaudesert Rotary President Mark Jackson said the six new members bring with them a wealth of skills, interests, and a passion for community service.

“Aileen Gutierrez is dedicated to projects that support children’s brain development, particularly those with special needs and ADHD,” he said.

“Sheryl, Fritzie, Jackie and Aileen Heard share a common goal on providing vital school supplies to children in need, while Rosefel Peel is committed to supporting students in their practical education and skill development.”

In addition, Beaudesert State High School student, Vhin Macalintal, has been recognised as a ‘Friend of Rotary’, which provided new members with an opportunity to be reminded of the benefits and availability of Rotary Youth Programs.

Mr Jackson, along with incoming Membership Director Yen Muller, warmly welcomed the new members into the Rotary Club of Beaudesert.

“These new members, hailing from diverse backgrounds but with a shared Filipino heritage, have already made significant contributions to our community,” he said.

“From helping to decorate the town during Christmas to assisting with various events and youth projects, their impact is felt far and wide.

“Their dedication to service and their active involvement in community initiatives make them valuable additions to our club.

“The Rotary Club of Beaudesert looks forward to the continued collaboration with our new members as we strive to make a positive difference in the world – both locally and internationally.”

The Rotary Club of Beaudesert meets Mondays (except the first Monday at the month) at 6pm for a 6.30pm dinner meeting.

Meetings are usually at Stationmaster House, but the venue can change.
