Former Beaudesert High student, Hayden Ashton, has been travelling the country and performing live on his Facebook page ‘The Real Australian Dream’.
He recently partnered with the Make-A-Wish foundation and now has the opportunity to travel and play shows, all for a fantastic cause.
In 2021, Hayden left the corporate life on a mission of self-discovery with his fiancée with the expectations to come back after a well-earned break.
“I had countless jobs lined up for my return back into the corporate world, but I didn’t realise how much I would fall in love with our beautiful country and the people we met along the way”, he said.
“After a few months into our trip, I found that I wasn’t passionate about real estate and property development. However, what I loved was spreading positive energy and encouraging people to live life on their terms”.
Hayden started an Instagram page, “The Real Australian Dream”, where he uploads photos of the places he visits and has amassed a following of over 25000 people across his social media channels.
“We built an online community that people wanted to be a part of and I began playing live sets on Facebook, just like I would around campfires when travelling”, he said.
After the birth of his first child last year, Hayden knew he could use his musical talent for something good while travelling around Australia.
“Your life changes after having a child, and I just wanted to help other children and families who had been struggling and had limited time on this world”, he said.
“I’d been told by people we met along the way that I should be busking while travelling around Australia. So, with that in mind, I created the Campfire Sessions national tour with the sole purpose to raise money for Make-A-Wish Australia”.
Hayden will play classic hits in over 50 caravan parks and campgrounds around Australia, with the goal of raising $50,000 dollars for Make-A-Wish.
“I just can’t wait to get the show on the road”, he said.
