TAMROOKUM Memorial Hall is holding a B150 Dancing Through The Ages Ball on April 6, revisiting the Miss and Mrs Beaudesert Shire competitions held in the 1980s.

Guests will be entertained with music by Chattanooga and dancing and mingling from 7pm until midnight.

Previous Miss and Mrs Beaudesert Shire winners have been sent a special invitation to come to the event, wear their sashes, and present themselves during the evening.

Dancing Through The Ages was inspired by Beaudesert’s 150th Anniversary theme mixed with the Miss and Mrs Beaudesert Balls held during the 80’s.

The Miss Beaudesert Shire competition was first established in 1980 by the Beaudesert Shire Council in hopes of becoming an annual event.

The event consisted of judging eleven girls who represented different areas of the Shire, with the first evening being attended by 450 people.

Miss Beaudesert Shire became so popular that they initiated a ‘Mrs’ Beaudesert Shire competition in 1985, to cater for married women as well as single ladies.

Each winner of the “Miss” and “Mrs” competitions shared the luxury of having their names engraved on a perpetual silver tray trophy that was donated by the Beaudesert Shire Council at the time.

They held the Miss Beaudesert Shire events at Beechmont Hall with Mrs Beaudesert Shire events being held at the Woodhill Hall.

The B150 Dancing Through The Ages Ball will hopefully recreate the everlasting memories of Miss and Mrs Beaudesert Shire as well as reignite the unity that Balls created for Beaudesert residents.

Tickets are $20 each and should be booked by March 23. For bookings and more information, text Coral on 0438 180 552
