Ambos to host open day

ALL WELCOME - Beaudesert Ambulance Officer in Charge Mick Mahoney and local ambulance committee Chairman Mark Hodgson

BEAUDESERT Ambulance Station will lead the way to help strengthen the health and wellbeing of the community beyond emergencies when they host their open day on July 19.

The open day will go from 10am to 2pm at the station at 62 Tina Street.

The free event will be open to the whole community with a focus on connecting with the services available locally.

Beaudesert Ambulance Station Officer in Charge Mick Mahoney said there would be involvement from local ambulance, police and firefighting personnel as well as Mununjali Housing, the RSL Sub Branch who do community patient transport, Meals on Wheels, Beaucare, Wongaburra, the combined churches group and Scenic Rim MP Jon Krause.

Local singer Brad Currie, who is also the General Manager of Mununjali Housing, will provide entertainment on the day and there will be a free basic barbecue and ice creams as well as a coffee van with drinks for sale.

Mr Mahoney said local businesses had also risen to the occasion, sponsoring things like the meat, cold room and portable toilets for the open day.

He extended a welcome to the whole community to attend.

“I would suggest anyone and everyone from the Scenic Rim who wants a couple of hours out to see what positive community looks like should come along,” he said.

“People will show up and might just run into someone they know or meet someone and become friends – it’s all about building networks and supporting one another.

“This is about connecting all facets of our community for a positive outcome and leveraging our interactions with community and with all of the support groups.

“We’re bringing everyone together in one place for the health and wellbeing of our community beyond emergencies.”
