Pack Saddle Demo and Back to Rathdowney Day, May 19: At the Heritage Barn behind the Information Centre in Rathdowney starting 1pm. During the Back to Rathdowney casual gathering, there will be a horseback demonstration of one of the original pack saddles used to transport goods to and from O’Reilly’s, followed by a talk on the history of the saddle. There will also be a short thank you presentation to previous Councillor, Virginia West. Everyone is invited to this free afternoon of events. Light refreshments provided. Rathdowney Community Morning Tea, May 23: This month’s Communi-Tea will be a fundraiser for Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea. Held in front of the Rathdowney Post Office 10am–11am. Bring cash for the donation box and raffle. Everyone welcome.
