NO-ONE does a morning tea better than CWA members and at the reopening of the Beaudesert CWA Hall the tea and scones were plentiful, as were the well-wishers.
Beaudesert CWA has had at least four places to call home since it began in 1927 and members hope that the latest reincarnation will be the last.
Beaudesert QCWA President, Linda Lynch said it was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces and new friends gathered at the opening.
“As you may know, it has been a challenging 11 months without our beloved hall,” she said.
“During this time, we have felt the absence of this vital community space, which has long served as a gathering point for celebrations, meetings, and events that bring us all together.”
“We are immensely grateful to be back in the beautiful hall, surrounded by the stunning parkland and picturesque views that make our community so special.”
“The journey to this moment has not been easy. It has involved a great deal of hard work, dedication, and collaboration.”
The ribbon cutting was performed by QCWA State President Tamara Stephensen and the Branch’s longest-serving member, Dinah Buchanan.
The event was attended by QCWA members from across south-east Queensland, and Michael Enright, whose great grandmother was the first President of the Beaudesert QCWA Branch.
Judy Day from Tracey’s Pantry said the QCWA regularly assisted Tracey’s Pantry with funding and donations.
“They have been just wonderful,” said Judy.
“We are so grateful to them.”
Linda described the reopening as a significant milestone..
“Together, let us cherish this space and continue to strengthen the bonds within our community.
“We look forward to creating more memories together in the months and years to come.”
The building, relocated as part of the Beaudesert Town Centre Revitalisation project, has a new façade, renovated kitchen and a back verandah with sweeping views to the south.
