The construction of a new facility for The Club, Beaudesert is officially under way.
Management and committee members of The Club joined with Oakland Estate developer James Robinson, Scenic Rim MP Jon Krause, Mayor Tom Sharp and Councillor Steve Moriarty for a sod-turning ceremony on March 19.
The Club secured a 50-year lease on the Oakland site from Mr Robinson after it became clear they would not be able to permanently remain at William Street.
The Club leases the current site from Sunnybank Community & Sports Club, which bought it from the Beaudesert RSL Sub Branch in February 2024.
A floor plan of the new facility, which will be about double the size of where they are currently, shows substantial outdoor terrace facilities, two function rooms, multiple dining and lounge spaces, a large kids play area and 46 parking spaces.
The Club CEO Sharon Cullen said it was an exciting time.
“It will be bigger, we’ll have more parking obviously for all our customers, we’re limited with parking where we are now, and just all new facilities, amenities, a nice big kids’ play area and sports bar, two function rooms,” she said.
There is no estimate on how long the build could take, but The Club’s lease on the William Street venue remains in place until October 2028.
