Outgoing President Bev Fehlberg and incoming President Linda Lynch joined fellow CWA members in hosting a special mid-week Father’s Day morning tea for residents of Wongaburra Garden Settlement.

The early treat, enjoyed by nine senior dads, was held in the CWA Hall to coincide with the regular Thursday morning branch meeting.

It marked the second such occasion for the Father’s Day event by the CWA which also hosts a special Mother’s Day celebration.

Everyone joined in a singalong to music provided by the Beaudesert U3A Ukulele Group, featuring songs from The Beatles to Olivia Newton-John to country and western to an original old Hawaiian classic.

The men were all presented with a Father’s Day gift before leaving.

Beaudesert CWA, which is very active in the local community, has experienced a welcome boost in membership recently, with membership increasing from 18 to 22.

“From getting involved in projects, campaigning on issues or becoming part of an interest group, our CWA branch offers a diverse range of activities and opportunities,” said Linda.

“We meet twice a week, from 9am to 11.30am, on Mondays and Thursdays, and would love to see more members in our group.”

“For anyone wishing to join, all they have to do is come to one of our meetings, or phone me on 0407 193 752.”
