A huge day of rugby league at the Beaudesert Kingfishers’ grounds saw several wins for the home teams last Saturday.

From Under 6s through to the Senior Men’s and Women’s teams, R S Willis Park was packed with keen players and their supporters from across the Gold Coast region.

The Senior Women’s team, who have stepped up a division after winning the Grand Final last year, had a very convincing win against Aspley Devils, finishing 30 – 12.

They were backing up in only their second game in Reserve Grade. The previous week they won by a similar margin against West Inala, leading 30 – 4 at the final siren.

The Kingfishers Senior Men’s team are showing themselves to be a force to be reckoned with after their first game saw Parkwood Sharks unable to score and their second game against Ormeau a win for the Kingfishers, finishing 18 – 4.

The Under 18s played a very hard, physical game against Currumbin Eagles, and were defeated 6 – 18.

It is shaping up to be another very strong season for these local heroes.
