These poincianas lining Eaglesfield Street are like nature’s Christmas trees, shading the footpaths with their festive shades of red blossoms and verdant foliage.
They seem to thrive in our humid climate, and I’ve read they are said to herald the start of summer and of storm season. Sounds about right, for Christmas time in Beaudesert!
I’ve also read they are native to Madagascar, which makes sense because apparently Madagascar gets a hot, rainy Christmas season too.
