The Year 12 Tamborine Mountain student competed against about 30 other Queensland girls to win a place, along with five others, to the national finals in Melbourne on July 13.
Emily said her mum came across the competition, and knowing how keen she was to become a model, thought it would be a fantastic opportunity.
“I was shocked and so excited when I found out I was a finalist. I didn’t think I’d make it through,” she said.
If Emily is successful in Melbourne being crowned the winner, she will be flown with SriLankan Airlines to compete in London on the international stage and walk the catwalks at London Fashion Week.
Six finalists will also be signed to a modelling agency.
