When Kylie Moss, Tony Griffin and Jim and Tracee Trammell opened GTM Music Studios in 2020, amid a global pandemic, they held their breath and hoped for the best.
Fast forward one year, and their studio in the heart of Beaudesert has become a local success story about the power of believing in your dreams.
They have seen locals come and form lifelong friendships around their shared love of music, and they have experienced strong community support for their venture.
GTM Music Studios celebrated their first birthday with a lively community concert featuring strong performances by their many students to an appreciative audience of family, friends and supporters.
As well as music lessons in strings, brass, guitar, ukulele, drums, piano and singing, GTM offers drama classes, jam nights, workshops, venue hire and they even have a shop.
The studio has gone from strength to strength, employing six teachers and seeing 120 regular students plus jam night regulars.
Kylie, who is a passionate music teacher and an accomplished singer songwriter in her own right, both as a soloist and as part of successful local band Griffith County, said it was a dream come true.
“The idea of opening the studio was for Tony and me, Jim and Tracee to create a music hub where anyone in town could be involved with music and make friends, and it’s been a lifelong dream of ours to do that,” she said.
“It’s just lovely now to see it becoming a reality, and we’ve formed this beautiful family where everyone belongs, so it’s a dream come true.”
GTM Studios is in shop 16 Post Office Plaza, 115 Brisbane Street, Beaudesert.
Newcomers are always welcome and there is something for everybody.
