Come on a Journey – Beaudesert 150 Years
An exhibition inviting the Scenic Rim community to take a stroll down memory lane and step into the story of Beaudesert will be a highlight of the town’s 150th birthday celebrations this year.
Come on a Journey – Beaudesert 150 Years – opens this week at The Centre Beaudesert and tells the town’s story through residents’ recollections, evocative images, newspaper articles, and objects to mark its sesquicentenary.
The exhibition will showcase Beaudesert as a vibrant home to generations as well as new families, with a rich history and some fascinating stories to tell.
Integrated Transport Plan
Community consultation is now open on Council’s Integrated Transport Plan which will help to ensure our region’s local infrastructure is able to meet the demands of the Scenic Rim’s growing population in coming decades.
This is the first time Council has undertaken a comprehensive study of the Scenic Rim’s transport needs and I encourage everyone to please share their feedback through the online Let’s Talk Scenic Rim platform or at the in-person sessions, before the consultation closes on Monday 2 September 2024.
Environmental Grants
Council is currently accepting submissions for community initiatives that will help our environment. To find out more about how to apply and what is eligible please visit Council’s website. Submissions will close on 26 August 2024.

Out and About
Across the past month I have had the pleasure of attending many community events. It was great to see such a huge turnout for the BSHS Family Fun Day! There was plenty of exhibits and a central stage filled with lots of local acts.
Congratulations to the winners of the Junior and Senior Ambassadors and the Beaudesert Showgirls! I look forward to supporting the important work you do throughout the year ahead and of course at the upcoming Beaudesert Show!
I was honoured to attend a very special high tea fashion parade event at Bromelton House to support Mater Little Miracles recently. I have enjoyed meeting many members of our community, and look forward to meeting more of you, potentially at some great upcoming events: the ‘Tamborine Car Show’, ‘Tamborine Bush Dance’, and ‘The Long Sunset’.
