Australian professional downhill mountain bike racer Nathan Rennie shares his expertise in Nathan Rennie’s Victory Lab to help local athletes find the formula towards victory.
Nathan has been riding bikes since the age of five and was first in the limelight when he was 14 years old.
“I’ve been in every single competition under the sun – I’m 42 now and it’s never really left my sight during the time,” Nathan said.
“Once I formed my mountain biking career into a full-time career, that just took over everything and I was a professional mountain bike rider from 17 years old.”
His inspiration for starting Victory Lab was to share his journey and advise the younger generation on successfully maintaining a professional career in sports.
“A lot of it is naturally-based but you need to have that drive in the first place – what I really want to do is create those avenues and pathways for younger guys to actually achieve a professional sport,” he said.
“The Victory Lab is formulating a way to achieve victory – once you have that formula and you know exactly what you’re doing and sticking to it, that is the ultimate goal.”
Nathan provides tailored coaching and training regarding multiple aspects of a professional career including handing public speaking, sponsorships, preparation, and more.
“It really is a learning curve, and you really don’t know until you’re at the top – you don’t realise these things actually happen,” Nathan said.
“Just trying to keep you guys on point as you go along and if there’s any problem situations that might arise, which they do, I’m the go-to guy with solutions.”
Nathan is ready to share his expertise with the world and support those who wish to follow a similar path.
“I know it’s a great sporting town here, which is really good – I’ve been and had a professional sports career for a long time and now I’m more than happy to help out the younger generation,” he said.
“We’re all there for the ultimate goal and that is to achieve.”
