The Canungra Owls Under 12 Green team are continuing to soar midway through the season.
Canungra Times was lucky enough to see this in action during their June 20 clash against Ormeau, with both teams showing World Cup-style energy throughout the match.
Under 12 Green coach Harvey Mahony said he had seen the team grow since he first took on the role.
“Obviously they were a rough bunch at the start. They’re good kids now and it’s good to see them get better each week,” he said.
Mahony said coaching the team was one of his favourite things to do when the weekend comes around.
“I just love soccer,” he said.
“My one thing I say to them is just to have fun, you know, it just doesn’t matter how the score turns out, just have fun.”
