Have you ever considered what it means to have faith and trust?
A recent discussion at SLAngers considered the meaning of faith and trust.
Are these words interchangeable? Where does hope fit into the equation?
The dictionary states faith means full of loyalty and trust, while it also said trust is to hope and rely on the integrity of a person; and hope is to desire with confidence.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding”.
Hebrew’s 11-1 states faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see.
I think these words of hope, trust and faith are worth considering in our own personal lives.
It was with much hope and trust I prayed our recent street stall would be a success and it certainly was.
The team from St Luke’s produced a great array of goods for the stall and our excellent takings will go towards maintaining our church, especially as we move towards the 90th Anniversary celebrations to be held on October 17 and 18.
Congratulations to the raffle prize winners who were Mark, Linda and Jan.
We are very grateful to Michelle and her team from My Country Escape for allowing us to set up outside their lovely store.
We are also very grateful to the Canungra Butchery for their generous gift voucher used as a prize for our raffle. I am sure some ticket sales occurred because of this voucher.
We are extremely grateful to the Canungra Op Shop in Lawson Lane for kindly providing a $200 gift voucher to St Lukes, enabling us to buy food to fill the pantry shelves to help people in need.
Canungra certainly has a great and generous community spirit to which we say “Thank you very much.”
