Mia embarked on her engineering journey in 2023, entering a field that would quickly reveal her natural talent. From her very first lesson, she showcased an impressive grasp of the practical skills required in the trade, culminating in achieving a perfect score of 100%. This accomplishment is a testament to her hard work and determination as Mia embraced the complexities of engineering, and it’s male – dominated environment, with enthusiasm.

Mia’s passion for engineering did not go unnoticed. Her initiative and proactive approach opened doors to invaluable opportunities, particularly through her engagement with local businesses. One such opportunity arose at Beaudesert Exhaust, where her work experience swiftly transformed into part-time employment. This hands-on experience not only enhanced her technical skills but also provided her with a unique perspective on the industry, further fuelling her ambition.

As she continued her studies, Mia’s dedication paid off in 2024 when she achieved the highest mark across all Year 12 Engineering classes. Her commitment to excellence was exemplified by her decision to take on extension tasks, including the design and construction of a tractor attachment—a carry-all—that she conceptualised herself. This project not only highlighted her creativity and engineering skills but also her ability to see a project through from idea to execution.
