Loggers Victory!
The Canugra Loggers had their first win on Saturday 30 April 2005 against a very competitive Nerang team. The Loggers won 20-18 in a thrilling match.
While the weather on the day was less than perfect, a large group of dedicated and extremely vocal fans turned out to watch their local heroes play in the third home game of the season. The Nerang side arrived fired up and ready to play but it was the Loggers who drew first blood, with Ben Sutherland scoring a fast paced try on the wing in the opening minutes.
This was followed soon after by a brilliant try by Mark Morris to put Canungra ahead 8-0. Within the next five minutes, Dave Roberts tripped over the try line, landing on the ball, consequently scoring the next try in dubious fashion!

Lest We Forget
An estimated 2800 people turned out to watch the Anzac Day march led by serving members from the Kokoda Barracks.
The tri-service contingent of 150 troops in Army, Navy and Air Force uniforms added military precision to Canungra’s biggest march in decades.
Almost 60 veterans, ex-servicemen and women and supporters marching under the RSL banner followed the Pipe and Drum band up Christie Street with rural fire brigade, emergency services and SES personnel behind in uniform.
Canungra School students, Scouts and Guides brought up the rear ahead of five mounted riders from Valley View Equine Group.

Anzac day lights up driveways
Across Australia, ANZAC Day 2020 was different. With COVID-19 restrictions in place, people took up the call to commemorate ANZAC Day at home, in their driveways.
There were people dressed in uniforms, with medals, in their dressing gowns and with the front yards decorated.
