THEY came from across South East Queensland and beyond – descendants of John and Catherine Horan – and gathered on the original selection of their eldest son, Matthew Horan, now owned and farmed by Matthew’s great-great-grandson Dave Tommerup and his family.

Many of the cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren had not seen each other for several years but welcomed the opportunity to catch up and discuss where they fitted into the family tree.

A celebratory cake was cut by the eldest and youngest present, Mary Doyle, Jay Cahill and Blair Carr.

The day began with morning milking at Tommerups farm, followed by a church service at St John’s Church, Kerry and a family picnic.
