BEAUDESERT State High School joined forces with the Beaudesert B150 committee to host a remarkable Family Fun Day.
The event, attended by over 1200 enthusiastic locals and visitors, marked a joyous occasion filled with community spirit and entertainment for all ages.
The festivities featured more than 50 vibrant community stalls and food trucks offering a diverse range of goods, services and food, alongside free rides that brought smiles to many faces.
The entertainment program, curated by various community groups, captivated the audience with performances that showcased the talent and diversity within the community and Beaudesert SHS.
Adding literary flair to the festivities, the Scenic Rim Writers Group and the Beaudesert Genealogy Group launched two separate books, contributing to the preservation of local stories and heritage.
The Alumni Presentation organised by Beaudesert State High School paid tribute to the founding students and teachers, who were honoured with commemorative pins as tokens of appreciation.
About 40 foundation students attended, along with two of the school’s foundation teachers – John Falt and Don Tanner OAM.
Foundation students Cyril Antcliff and Peter Ardrey recalled walking from the high school to Beaudesert Showground for sport.
Cyril said there were a number of students who had long walks or rides to get to school.
Tim Andrews, Acting B150 Chair said the event would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the dedicated stallholders and generous sponsors.
“Their contributions helped create a memorable day for the Beaudesert community, fostering connections and celebrating our shared history,” he said.
Mr Andrews extend the B150 committee’s heartfelt gratitude to all involved in making the Beaudesert State High School and B150 Family Fun Day a resounding success and looks forward to seeing some at the Gala Dinner on August 3.
